Squeegeerama 2018 July 23-27 with San Francisco's own Lil' Tuffy as our guest artist
Squeegeerama is an intense but enjoyable 5 day printing adventure on Vancouver Island. The region is famous for its natural beauty, and the Comox Valley is a great central location and jumping off point for after print fun.
Each year we bring in a guest artist, who will provide a glimpse into their distinctive style, share art and print production methods, and produce an original screenprinted edition or two during their visit. Workshop participants can work alongside the artist, learn tricks, and are encouraged to make their own prints over the 5 days. Best suited to those who have some screenprinting background or strong digital/hand drawing art production abilities and a real desire to learn to screenprint, because that's what we will be doing all week.
Staff and the facility are available and ready to help everyone create some great art and take your printing to another level. We have a range of equipment and encourage everyone to experiment and learn from each other. Try new materials, techniques, innovate and learn.
We have some group social activities planned, but you are also free to explore the area, which includes everything from ocean to alpine in a spectacular natural setting on Vancouver Island.
Get in touch if you need help/advice finding a place to stay. There is a wide choice of AirBNBs, hotels, oceanfront or mountaintop accommodations, even a yurt! The Comox Valley is a relatively small place, with everything about 10-15 minutes away. Fly in to Comox (YQQ) connecting through Calgary or Vancouver airports. Connect by ferry from Vancouver or Powell River.
